Spanish Nacho ("we", "our", "the Service") is an AI-powered Spanish tutor that operates through Telegram. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Data We Collect

Account Information

Telegram name — your first name as provided by Telegram (automatically received when you start the bot)
Email and phone number — optionally provided during onboarding, used only for account recovery and support
Spanish level and learning goals — provided during onboarding to personalize your experience
Native language — used to provide explanations in your language

Conversation Data

Chat messages — your text conversations with the tutor are stored temporarily to maintain conversation context and provide personalized feedback
Retention period: 30 days — conversations are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days

Voice Data

Audio files are NOT stored — voice messages you send are processed in real time for speech-to-text transcription and immediately discarded
Voice metadata (transcription text, duration) is stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 30 days
AI-generated audio responses (text-to-speech) are created on demand and not permanently stored

Learning Progress

Progress data (lesson completions, scores, common errors), achievements and points (XP, badges, leaderboard rankings), and vocabulary tracking (words learned) are retained for the lifetime of your account

Payment Data

Payments are processed entirely by Stripe
We never store credit card numbers, CVVs, or banking details
We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and personalize the Spanish tutoring service
To track your learning progress and adapt lesson difficulty
To generate feedback on your writing, speaking, and grammar
To manage your subscription and payment status
To send you weekly progress reports (if enabled)
To maintain leaderboard rankings and achievement systems

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the tutor. Only the minimum data necessary is shared with each service:

OpenAI — speech-to-text transcription of voice messages
OpenRouter — AI language model for conversation and lesson generation
ElevenLabs — text-to-speech for listening exercises and voice responses
Stripe — payment processing
Telegram — messaging platform

We do not share your data with any third party for marketing, advertising, or data brokerage purposes.

5. Your Rights

Right to Deletion

You can permanently delete all your data at any time by sending the /deletemydata command to the bot. This will immediately and irreversibly remove:

Your account and profile information
All conversation history
All learning progress, scores, and errors
All achievements, points, and vocabulary
All voice message metadata
All session summaries and assessment results

After deletion, you can start fresh by sending any message to the bot.

Right to Access

You can view your current data through bot commands: /mystats for progress, /subscription for payment status.

6. Minimum Age

You must be at least 16 years old to use Spanish Nacho. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 16. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will promptly delete their account and data.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the bot. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
